RAD Federation: PIAF-Founders Alliance wins corporate class unopposed PIAF-Founders Alliance wins corporate class unopposed ================================================================================ Super Administrator on 28 August, 2009 08:00:00 The PIAF-Founders Alliance on Friday won all the seats of Corporate-class unopposed for the forthcoming elections of Lahore Chambers of Commerce and Industry to be held on September 16, as none of their rivals filed nomination papers against them. The LCCI members disclosed this at the election office of the PIAF-Founders Alliance here on Friday. Those who won the corporate-class elections unopposed included Shahzad Ali Malik, Amjad Ali Jawa, Ijaz Ahmed Mumtaz, Marghoob Shakir Izhar, Mian Tariq Rehman, Tanvir Ahmed Sufi, Jabbar Khalid, and Sheikh Muhammad Ashfaq. However, the elections for the associate class candidates will be held according to the schedule. Addressing the meeting of PIA-Founders Alliance, veteran trade leader Iftikhar Ali Malik said that unopposed win of the corporate-class candidates was the result of untiring efforts of the PIAF-Founders Alliance for the business community. He further said that the Alliance would leave no stone unturned to solve the problems being faced by the business community in this era of global economic recession. On this occasion, Vice President Saarc CCI Iftikfar Ali Malik also congratulated the traders and businessmen for reposing their confidence on the unopposed elected candidates and hoped that they would take all possible measures to ensure formulation of business friendly policies to uplift countrys economy. Addressing the participants, the Alliance leaders Mian Tajammal Hussain and Mian Anjum Nisar said that the PIAF-Founders Alliance had introduced sector specialists as their candidates for the LCCI Executive Committee with the sole objective to forward solid proposals to the government for economic progress and prosperity. They said that despite unprecedented crisis at national level, all efforts were made to restore the confidence of the business community. They hoped the business community would repose confidence in PIAF-Founders Alliance in the larger interests of the economy of the country. They said that the participation of large number of market representatives in the function was enough to make the point that the business community wanted continuity in the policies introduced by the PIAF-Founders Alliance. Earlier, speaking on the occasion, the LCCI President Mian Muzaffar Ali presented LCCI performance report, which was highly appreciated by the business community representatives present on the occasion. Mian Muzaffar said that he tried his best to keep in touch with all the businessmen and put his energies to solve their problems.
